Hit and run in New York: Man seriously injured, suspect flees

A 37-year-old man on a scooter was left in critical condition after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run accident in Manhattan on Tuesday night.

The man was riding a scooter on Saint Nicholas Avenue near West 126th Street in Harlem when a limousine driver hit him just before 10 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

The driver of the limousine drove away and fled the scene.

The police initially did not have any information about the make and model of the sedan.
