Highlands County carjackers arrested in North Fort Myers
LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Two men were arrested in North Fort Myers after carjacking a woman in Highlands County.
The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a carjacking at 12:37 p.m. on Thursday.
A woman said she was sitting in her 2018 Lincoln SUV in the parking lot of her job, located at 596 US 27 North in Avon Park, with her door open when two black men walked up to her car wearing hoodies and masks.
According to Highlands County deputies, the men pulled a gun on her and demanded she get out of the car. The woman was not injured in the carjacking.
The two men were arrested by Lee County deputies in North Fort Myers after 3 p.m.
A silver Lincoln SUV is surrounded by crime scene tape in the area of Horizon Road and Shadow Pine Road in North Fort Myers.
Law enforcement has not released the names of the two men who were arrested.
