That Hell Let Loose Update 12 Patch Notes are live, and this update brings a wealth of new features, bug fixes, and content to the game. The Falling Dark update focuses on bringing night-time combat to the game, as well as tools focused on low-light situations.
What’s new in Hell Let Loose Update 12?
Hell Let Loose Update 12 is called Falling Dark because it introduces low-light variants on existing maps. There are also new tools like the flare gun, which can be used to spot enemies.
The new map coming with this patch is Remagen, which pits Allied and German players against each other for control of the Ludendorff Bridge. Both sides have strong points on both sides of the bridge, which can build strong defenses. As such, commanders must utilize their new Precision Strike abilities, which allow them to call in an attack aircraft to drop explosives.
Two vehicles were also added with this patch:
- USA: Medium Tank M4A3(75)W
- Germany: Panzerkampfwagen V Panther
While the M4A3(75)W Sherman is new to the game, the Panther was previously removed and is now making a return. There are also several new vehicle camouflages players can obtain, and machine guns have been added to halftracks.
Hell Let Loose Update 12 QOL improvements
Probably the most significant improvement for PC gamers are the changes to VOIP. There are now volume controls for local, unit, and command chats. That means you can prioritize speech audio however you like. Play as Grunt? Press Command down to prioritize Unit and Local.
Another big change is that destroyed vehicles can now be destroyed. An exploded tank will no longer pin your Sherman in the streets of Carentan. However, the infantry will need to be careful as wrecks will no longer provide cover as reliably as they used to.
You can see the rest of the changes, additions, and bug fixes in the official Steam announcement.
