He was arrested on suspicion of murder but police later confirmed he would do not face fees after the horrific incident in Maida Vale, West London, last week.

Abraham has now revealed the nasty moment he plowed into McCaskie.

I said Daily mail: “I thought: ‘I can’t just walk away and leave her.’ I had to help, to try to save her, I didn’t have time to consider.

“So I put my car in first gear and drove up the curb and onto the sidewalk. It was a short distance, 10 or 12 feet, and I pushed him, I made a bump. I was dodging the woman.

“Then I took off the accelerator but the car didn’t stop, kept going and I knew the man was under my car.

“I opened the door and saw his hand sticking out from under it.

Violent McCaskie was once in a relationship with Yasmin but he was ordered to stop stalking after years of abuse.

In the past, she confided in her friends about how her ex put a camera in her apartment, stole her post and phone in an ailing attempt to access her private information.

He was unable to appear in court in early January after being accused of violating the restraining order last year.

The abuser was arrested and charged with violating an order but did not appear in court and an arrest warrant was issued 20 days before the attack.

On January 24, McCaskie lunged at Yasmin and began stabbing her in the street to the horror of onlookers.

Abraham said he was coming home late from work when he saw the monster repeatedly stab the knife into his mother’s chest.

He told how his “mission” was to stop the bloodbath even though he was arrested for the murder.

‘God forgive me’

Recalling the horror, Abraham said: “I was in shock. I held my head and thought, ‘How did this happen?’ I tried to save a woman’s life and I killed a man.

“I said a prayer: ‘God forgive me for what I’ve done’.”

Thousands of people have supported the driver as a “hero” after his actions and filed petitions asking him not to be charged.

Police initially said he had fully cooperated with the investigation and was released on bail in February.

But they told him he was free to go after reviewing the CCTV and talking to witnesses.

In the past, Abraham said his “immediate” thought was “to protect the stabbed woman and the public.”

In a statement, he added: “I am deeply sorry that the man I tried to stop attacking others has died.

“I never meant to harm him, I just wanted to tell him not to hurt anyone any further.

“My only regret is that God did not allow me to be on the scene sooner so that my intervention could have saved the life of the young woman involved.

“I have no intention of harming the attacker, I only intend to protect the people being attacked.”
