Harry Styles fans are divided over the singer’s ‘unusual’ new accent.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, published Tuesday (May 17), many fans noted that Styles used the “that’s not him” accent.

“Harry Styles becomes another One Direction band member with a completely bizarre accent,” one fan wrote, referring to Style’s former band member Liam Payne’s new accent in an interview he gave at the 94th Academy Awards earlier this year .

Another person added: “Why am I so upset that Harry Styles is losing his little soft Northern accent?”

Many people also pointed out that Styles’ new accent sounds a little Australian.

“Why on earth does Harry Styles speak with an Australian accent?” wrote one fan. “He sounds cute though.”

Those of the iPaper TV editor Emily Baker wrote: “I will not watch or engage in any of Harry Styles’ interview content because I can’t take the change in his beautiful Nordic accent. Thank you for your understanding.”

The new music album by Styles Harry’s house is expected to be released on Friday, May 20th.

To coincide with the album’s release, the ‘As You Are’ singer announced that he will be playing a one-off UK show at the O2 Academy in Brixton on May 24th.

The announcement comes a day after Styles revealed he would be playing a similar show in New York on the day of the album’s release, with tickets priced at $25 (£20).

He will return to the UK for his Love on Tour stadium shows in June.
