Harris County crime: ‘Social media beef’ ends with shooting of two injured in Bear Creek neighborhood, authorities say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A social media beef between teenagers escalated into a shooting in western Harris County, authorities said.

The deputies are at the scene of the shooting in the middle of a neighborhood off Seven Springs and Eagle Trail.

A problem on social media escalated into a confrontation, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. A group of three to four teenagers went to a neighborhood home to confront the teenager.

An argument broke out in the yard, and once a gun was used by someone from the group. The gun was fired into the house, hitting a youth and a man inside.

The juvenile victim lives in the residence.

It is not known whether the man also lives in the house. Both victims suffered life-threatening injuries.
