Gunman shoots two children, 5 and 6, in beds and a teacher who is rampaging in the kindergarten

TWO young children are among those killed after a gunman opened fire on a child’s bedroom in a reported murder-suicide.

Officers were called to the bloody crime scene in Veskiama, Russia as two more deaths were confirmed.

According to Tass, the man opened fire on the two tots before turning the gun on himself.

The young victims, named five-year-old Vladimir and six-year-old Ekaterina, were reportedly asleep in their beds at the time.

The suspected gunman had started a reckless rampage after gunning down his neighbor, Alexandrer Dronin, 68, before entering through the school gates.

He then allegedly shot the teacher Olga Mitrofanova, who heroically tried to prevent the shooter from entering the children’s classroom.

Kindergarten colleague Elena Karpova, 52, also suffered an arm injury but is said to be in stable condition in hospital.

The gunman was later identified by police as 26-year-old Ruslan Akhtyamov.

His father confirmed that his son had been an avid marksman and often shot at a nearby quarry.

It came as police found evidence he was reportedly armed with a double-barreled shotgun at the time of his death.

The governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Aleksey Russkikh, is now scheduled to fly to the scene of the tragedy as an investigation into the tragedy is launched.

He has ordered emergency aid to be given to the families of those killed.

In a statement, he said: “I offer my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. This is an irreplaceable loss for all of us.”

Heartbreaking footage later shared from outside the nursery showed paramedics rendering aid to several people outside the nursery building while traumatized parents looked on in despair.

It mirrored similarly harrowing scenes in the Russian city of Kazan last year after one Teenager shot eight students at his former school.

Ilnaz Renatovich Galyaviev, 19, reportedly told investigators that he “hates everyone” and “wanted everyone to know he was a god” after speaking to police.

He has since pleaded guilty to the murders of multiple people and remains in police custody.
