Gucci’s pet collection includes a $7,500 dog bed and a $460 poop bag holder

These spoiled pooches certainly don’t live the Ruff life.

Style savvy hoping to add a touch of couture to the lives of their spoiled brats can now turn their fur babies into fashionistas with Gucci’s pet collection – if they aren’t overwhelmed by the barking mad prices.

The 2022 Gucci Pet Collection features a $7,500 custom-made pet bed for the fleabag who prefers to lounge in a French-inspired chaise lounge, a $460 poop bag holder and a $500 leash.

Other items include $220 embellished AirTag holders, $895 bowl covers, $4,050 pet carrier bags featuring the iconic Gucci house monogram, and a “travel bowl set” featuring a hard case embellished with the “GG” logo and priced at $4,250.

Studded, adorned, and adorned with feathers, there’s also a whole range of clothing items from t-shirts to hats for animal fanatics to mix and match.

The Italian luxury house, helmed by Alessandro Michele, this week released a quirky ad campaign featuring a wide range of domesticated cute Patootie puppies – basset hounds, corgis and dachshunds make cameos – rocking the new line, which comes in a variety of materials, including smooth leather, canvas, webbing and herbarium prints.

Not to be outdone by the canines, some fancy cats even wear their Gucci best in the video shot by Max Siedentopf.

In fact, Siedentopf was so smitten with one of the campaign’s pups that he gave him a furry home.

“I’m so excited to share the new campaign for Gucci’s first pet collection on my birthday, where I got to meet little Lucio who changed my life forever,” the artist wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of his new cuddle pal Dachshund.

“The Gucci Pet Collection continues the narrative of surprise and delight that defines the Gucci lifestyle choices, infusing everyday life with a magical aura,” reads the description on the products’ landing page. “Unveiled in a colourful, retro-inspired campaign, the pieces let each animal’s personality shine as an ode to the creative director’s vision of individuality.”

In addition to the craftsmanship expected of Gucci’s high-end luxury goods offerings, the pet collection is “made from animal-free raw materials that come primarily from sustainable, renewable and bio-based sources” — so you know Fido won’t be embarrassed about his eco-conscious clothes.

The foray into the pet market is a first for Gucci — but not a first in fashion. Other high-end luxury brands, from Prada to Valentino to Louis Vuitton, have toyed with pet collections in the past — meaning brand snobs drooling for designers can pick and choose the toss.
