Video obtained by ABC13 showed Wright’s arrest Wednesday afternoon outside a high-rise apartment in downtown Houston on Fannin Street.

Investigators said Wright showed up at his job at Cedar Gate Technologies on the 10th floor of the 20 Greenway Plaza building around noon with a loaded gun and allegedly shot his boss.

A witness who is a colleague of Wright and Kelly said he heard the shot and looked out of his cabin and saw Wright pointing a gun. The witness said Wright told him not to say anything before scooting off and fleeing down the stairwell.

The witness told investigators he had been Wright’s associate for about two years but had no idea what his motive in the shooting might have been. Prosecutors also said the motive was still unknown.

After Wright was arrested and invited for an interview, police said he ended the interview once his Miranda rights were read.

Other employees in the building say they were shocked after the incident.

“I feel kind of lucky. Could you imagine being in there and not knowing? It’s crazy,” said employee Chris Idol.

According to court records, Wright has no criminal record in Harris County.
