A 13-year-old girl was arrested Wednesday in a violent, video-captured robbery in the Bronx that left a 76-year-old woman with a broken hip, police officers said.
Investigators identified the teenager through disturbing surveillance video – which shows her grabbing the older victim’s handbag and spinning it around until it falls to the ground in a building lobby in Pelham Bay on Sunday.
The teenager and two other suspects first approached the senior as she entered the building at Roberts and Hobart Avenues, police officers said.
One of the suspects pulled her hair, police said.
Footage shows the victim trying to shut the door from the muggers – but to no avail.
The trio eventually made off with the woman’s purse and detained her $50, a wallet, a debit card, and insurance cards, police said.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with a broken hip, police said.
The teenager has been charged with robbery, authorities said.
Police said on Wednesday they are still looking for the other two suspects.
