Ghislaine Maxwell trial news LIVE – Jeffrey Epstein was likened by ‘madam’ lawyer to James Bond in today’s trial

GHISLAINE Maxwell’s defense attorney compared Jeffrey Epstein to James Bond on the opening day of his social media sex trafficking trial on Monday.

Opening the case for the defense, Maxwell’s attorney Bobbi Sternheim told the jury: “Ever since Eve was accused of luring Adam with an apple, women have been blamed for bad behavior by men, and Women are often vilified and punished more than men. .

“The charges against Ghislaine Maxwell are because of things Jeffrey Epstein did. But she is not Jeffrey Epstein.”

Regarding Epstein, Sternheim said that “in many ways, he is like a James Bond of the 21st century… his accusers have shaken money trees and millions of dollars have fallen on the streets”.

The case could see bombshell revelations from Epstein’s murky world emerge as Maxwell responded to six allegations of trafficking and abuse of four victims.

Maxwell face the charges that she bought the girls for Epstein while also engaging in self-abuse in some cases.

Prosecutors allege she and Epstein exploited 14-year-old girls.

Maxwell’s attorneys deny any charges against her and will attempt to argue that her relationship with Epstein has been exaggerated.

However, before the crux of the trial even got underway today, online trolls claimed that there was a “gag order” forbidding coverage of the event.

According to Newsweek, no such order was given to the trial.
