She spoke French, Italian and Spanish, Mail on Sunday report.

Maxwell is currently learning her fifth language to “stay sober” as her lawyers file for retrial weeks after she was convicted for selling young girls to her ex paedo Jeffrey Epstein.

Her lawyer has asked for her sex trafficking conviction to be overturned after a juror failed to disclose that he had been sexually abused as a child before the trial.

The social site is in solitary confinement for suicide monitoring as she awaits sentencing later this year – with guards shining a torch into her cell every 15 minutes.

She is only allowed to wear paper clothes, no pen and paper and books are not allowed.

But the guards allowed her to learn Russian through CDs for a short period of time each day.

A source told the newspaper: “It helps her keep her mind focused. Learning helps maintain her sanity.”

Last month, Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and beating girls for the pedophile Epstein abuse, with the pair being described as “accomplices in the crime”.

A jury of six women and six men found her on five of the six counts because she was not found guilty of soliciting a minor to engage in an illegal sexual act after more than 40 consideration now.

But prosecutors said earlier this month there was “irrefutable reason” for a new trial after comments made by Scotty David’s jury.

David, who sat in the three-week trial in New York, revealed that he had told the jury about his own abuse as a child during deliberation, potentially influencing the verdict.

David was the first of two jurors to reveal their experience of sexual abuse and the role that sharing it played in the deliberations.

He first told DailyMail.com that he had not disclosed this history during the jury selection process because it had not been asked in the jury questionnaire.

When pointed out that question 48 out of 50 asked exactly that question, he told the publication he did not remember, but answered all questions “honestly”.

‘PARTNERS IN CRIME’

In a letter to Federal Court earlier this month, US State Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, wrote: “In particular, the jury described being a victim of abuse sexual use.

“Assuming the accuracy of the report, the juror asserted that he ‘skimmed through’ the prospective juror’s questionnaire and did not recall being asked if he had been a victim of abuse. sexual or not, but say ‘he will answer honestly’.”

The letter was signed by all four prosecutors and requested a hearing scheduled for the month.

When asked about Maxwell’s convictions, David previously told Independence: “For those who testified, for those who came forward and those who did not. I’m glad Maxwell was held accountable.

“This ruling shows that you can be found guilty regardless of your status.”

Prosecutors, who have requested an investigation into the jurors’ statements, will have until February 2 to respond to Maxwell’s request.

US District Judge Alison Nathan last week Maxwell’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 28.
