A bride-to-be has slammed nasty trolls who called her wedding dress ‘ugly’ and even compared it to ‘Little Bo Peep’ and ‘Christmas Ham’.
Madi Posa, from Texas, was over the moon to find a cheap wedding dress online for just $200 after citing thousands for some she’d tried on in stores.
She shared her thrifty find on TikTok, but was inundated with hundreds of mean comments from bullies who said the dress was “ugly”.
Madi hadn’t seen the dress in real life, but instead bought it online and excitedly unwrapped it for her viewers for the first time.
Her dress came in a very tight package, and she struggled to open it while “trembling with emotion.”
Unbeknownst to her, it was also inside out, causing a moment of panic where she thought the wrong dress had been delivered.
But once she opened it properly, she said she fell head over heels into the non-traditional pink and blue wedding dress.
However, she was disheartened by the negative reaction her video received, and many poked fun at it.
“You know today is your wedding anniversary, right?” said one. “It’s dated, but if you like it, that’s all that matters.”
“Noooo,” commented another. “It gives Little Bo peep vibes.”
“I liked it better on the inside,” wrote another. “Are you sure you want to get married in that Christmas ham?”
“It looks like a nightie my grandma used to wear,” commented another. “I think everyone has different tastes.”
Despite the negative comments, Madi assured her followers that she adored the dress and that it was exactly what she wanted.
“That’s exactly what I was hoping for. I’m glad I trusted the process,” she said in a video while twirling in her new dress, adding that she revealed the dress online before showing it to her own family.
“Thank you to those who have supported us. I love all the positive and fun things that were mentioned.
“I’m super happy and no one can change my mind.
“So happy for the big day.”
In addition to the negative comments, many said they loved the dress and that she looked like “a princess.”
“Why is everyone stressed? It’s beautiful!” said one. “It’s a dream of a fairy/quirky wedding dress.”
“Girl you rock that dress,” commented another. “You look absolutely amazing.”
“I’m obsessed with this, you look so beautiful,” said a third. “I can’t wait to see it on your big day.”
