FULHAM want Burnley’s Nick Pope to become their Premier League No. 1 next season.
Craven Cottage boss Marco Silva is keen to clear recruitment early on with the club eight points clear at the top championship.
And the Portuguese already has a big offer for England Goalkeeper Pope sure to move on this summer if Sean Dyche’s fighters go down.
Clarets would ask around £20m for the 29-year-old Pope but that could be negotiable if they don’t escape the bottom three.
Pope is threatened with a pay cut if the club are relegated – another reason why he would be tempted to move, besides staying in the English framework.
And he could land a lucrative deal with the Cottagers, who are never afraid to spend on salaries when they are in the top flight.
Marek Rodak is Fulham’s current No 1 and the club have also considered a loan deal for Dean Henderson from Manchester United – although a permanent purchase is their top priority.
Rodak is assisted by former at Craven Cottage Tottenham Ace Paulo Gazzaniga.
Pope has seven caps for his country, most recently against Poland in March last year.
He has since watched Aaron Ramsdale make his international debut and may have skipped him down the pecking order.
The Burnley stopper was an unused sub today as the Three Lions beat Switzerland 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.
Jordan Pickford played the full 90 minutes between sticks.
Pope will hope to play a role when England play Ivory Coast on Tuesday night.
