Frank Pesce dies: Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop actor dies aged 75


Actor Frank Pesce has passed away at the age of 75.

New York-born actor known for his roles in films including Midnight trip, Top Gunsand Beverly Hills Police.

He also had a successful career in television, appearing in series like Matlock and Kojak.

Pesce’s death has been confirmed as Deadline by the actor’s partner, Tammy Scher. He died from complications of dementia.

Pesce started acting on screen in the 1970s with Police Storyand went on to star in TV shows including Night Rider and Miami Vice.

His film career includes a role in Eddie Murphy’s hit action comedy Beverly Hills Policein which he memorably played a cigarette buyer, and Top gunner.

Pesce will return to the world of Beverly Hills Cop for the 1987 sequel, playing a criminal accused by Axel Foley (Murphy) of being an undercover cop.

In Top GunsPesce plays a bartender, while he plays a swindler in the beloved Robert DeNiro-Charles Grodin best friend comedy. Midnight trip.

Later in life, Pesce had small roles in projects including Donnie Brasco, Creed and Accounts payable 3.

He is survived by his brother, Vito, nieces Vanessa Pesce and Danielle Pesce, and sister-in-law Catherine.
