FPS legend FormaL officially joins OpTic Halo lineup for HCS season

OpTic Gaming announced a shocking roster change, bringing in FPS legend Matthew ‘FormaL’ Piper, replacing Justin’iGotUrPistola‘Dees. He will join Bradley ‘aPg’ Laws, Tommy ‘Lucid’ Wilson and Joey ‘Trippy’ Taylor.

Back when FormaL retired from Call of Duty, people were patiently waiting for his next move. As a former Halo pro, people are optimistic about him competing in Halo Infinite.

Although the pro supported the Sentinels in the first HCS event of the year, it was only a temporary position on the team.

FormaL hinted that he’s still interested in playing and it’s now official as OpTic Gaming has transformed him from a content creator to a starting member of their HCS roster.

OpTic Gaming welcomes FormaL to the Halo lineup

In a surprise announcement, OpTic Gaming has revealed that FormaL will be replacing Pistola in their Halo roster. This happened a week after the team finished second in HSS Anaheimonly fell into the hands of Cloud9 at this event.

Cloud9 seems to have dominated So far, there are first two LAN events. On top of that, they also won all four of the professional chain online events leading up to Anaheim.

Looks like OpTic felt the need to make a move to take down C9 so they went with someone who was already in their organization. In a Tweet, FormaL said that he is ready to work and wants to bring more championships to the Green Wall.

The team will make their LAN debut at the end of April at HCS Kansas City but in the meantime, they’ll compete online for round points in pro chain events.
