Fort Myers man killed in crash

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A Fort Myers man died after turning across the street in Boca Raton early Monday morning.

Murat Gurkaynak, 44, was pronounced dead after running off the road near 7000 N. Federal Highway and NE 70th Street at about 1:45 a.m., according to reports. Boca Raton Police Department.

Police say the man was driving a 2005 Ford Expedition when he swerved onto the sidewalk and crashed into a street sign, fire hydrant and two wooden power poles.

According to investigators, Gurkaynak was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Boca Raton Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact Rafalko Police at 561-620-6101.
