The South Carolina Highway Patrol told The Sun: “On February 8, a 2011 Ford pickup truck was traveling north on West Murph Road when it entered a private road and crashed into a building.

“One person inside the building was seriously injured in the impact.

“The driver of the pickup truck has been charged with driving in a collision that resulted in death.

The drive has been identified as Caleb Kennedy. A 17-year-old male from South Carolina.

This investigation is still ongoing. “

Since Caleb was only 17 years old, he was supposed to be on trial as an adult.

Caleb was a contestant on the most recent season of the hit show, but was eliminated later a video appeared of him posing with a friend in a white Ku Klux Klan style hood.

While his mother Anita Guy explained the footage was from when her son was 12 years old, the singer told his social media followers that the video “shows actions that weren’t done that way.”

The former fan favorite later admitted he was unprepared for life in the limelight.

When he appeared on American Idol, he said Spartanburg Herald magazine: “You think it’s all going to be fun, and a lot of it, but it’s going to slap you in the face really quickly. I’m not ready for that.”

Caleb added, “There’s no way to emotionally prepare for Idol. Because no one is ready for it, no matter how prepared you are.

“But I don’t regret it, and I fell in love with it.”

The teenager went on to say how he has changed as a result of that experience.

“In Idol, it’s not me,” he revealed. “That world is so different.

“Now that I’m home, I try to be me, but I’m also afraid someone will video me when I go to the Academy or Wal-Mart.

LAST YEAR

Caleb is down to the last year in the popular show, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, before exiting.

He wrote in a lengthy apology on Instagram: “Hey guys, this is going to be a bit of a surprise, but I will no longer be on American Idol.

“There was a video that popped up on the internet and it showed actions that weren’t done that way.”

He continued: “I’m younger and don’t think about actions, but that’s not an excuse. I want to say sorry to all the fans and everyone I have let down.

“I will use social media a little less to improve myself, but saying that, I know this has hurt and disappointed a lot of people and caused people to lose respect for me.

“I’m so sorry! I pray that one day I can regain your trust in who I am and your respect! Thank you for supporting me.”
