Former elementary school teacher in Naples pleads guilty to 22 counts of child molestation

NAPLES, Fla. – A former Parkside elementary school teacher pleaded guilty in court Friday after he was charged with 22 counts of sexually harassing a child under 12.

Hector Manley received a 25-year sentence for each count against him. He will also be required to wear a GPS tracker once he is released from prison and registered as a sex offender.

Manley received 1,052 credit days for time served.

Manley arrested on March 1, 2019 after three children spoke to delegates about Manley inappropriately touching them in class. After detectives interviewed them, two more victims were identified.

The investigation into the incidents eventually led the police to discover at least 19 children who reported being victim of sexual abuse at the hands of Manley.

Manley, a double amputee, is said to have let children sit on his lap in a wheelchair while he touched them under their clothes.

A young boy told investigators that Manley threatened to kill his mother if someone found out.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, victims have been making claims since the 2017-2018 school year.
