NS Florida woman who was caught on camera assaulting Uber driver Michael Hassey, 23, pleaded guilty earlier this week in court.
Michele Stilwell, 55, pleaded guilty to disruptive and disruptive conduct and was sentenced to 18 months’ probation, a $850 fine, a mental health assessment and no contact with the victim.
In April, Stilwell carried out an unprovoked attack on Hassey while he was driving near her home in St. Pete.
According to deputies, Stilwell “stretched forward and proceeded to strangle the victim from behind,” then eventually bit Hassey’s neck.
Deputies say Hassey tried to call 911 during the attack, but failed because Hassey continued, “biting, scratching and strangling him.”
Witnesses who witnessed the attack notified police and pulled Stilwell away from Hassey, separating the two until deputies arrived.
Witnesses were able to photograph and record parts of the attack on video.
