Five split the $50,000 reward for arresting suspected terrorist Frank James

Five people who helped provide “critical information” about accused Brooklyn terrorist Frank James will share a $50,000 reward offered by the NYPD, police officers said Friday.
“We appreciate everyone who has responded to our request for information to help locate this suspect, including all those whose tips didn’t work,” Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a statement. “We called on the public to join us in finding this suspect, and New Yorkers stepped up.”
James, 62, was arrested on Wednesday after a nearly 30-hour manhunt – and after calling East Village police.
Federal police filed terrorism charges against James in connection with the mass shooting on an N train bound for Manhattan at the 36th Street stop in Sunset Park Tuesday morning. He was held without bail.
The combined reward, which comes from contributions from the Police Foundation, the MTA and the TWU Local 100, will be split evenly among the five people, according to the NYPD.
“Thanks to the help of these five Good Samaritans, the NYPD was able to do its job and get a dangerous suspect off the streets just hours after his picture was released,” said Mayor Eric Adams.

Officials did not name the Good Samaritans who would receive the bounty.
But some have spoken to reporters about springing into action after spotting James.
“I was like, ‘Oh shit, this guy, let me call the police.’ And I’ll call them and we’ll catch him,” said Zack Tahhan, 21, according to the video posted on Twitter.
Mohammed Chikh also notified the police and witnessed James’ arrest.
“He didn’t fight, he didn’t do anything, he totally surrendered,” Chikh told the Post.
