Fisk scores as Hammers dents United’s top-three chase as City and Chelsea seal victory

GRACE FISK dealt a brutal blow to Manchester United’s European hopes with a late West Ham equalizer in a dramatic 1-1 draw.
The Irons starlet struck in stoppage time to dampen the Red Devils’ attack in the Champions League while Man City were hot on their heels.
And saw the result The Red Devils’ Lead over their neighbors reduced to just three points as Gareth Taylor’s aces have a game in hand.
The early exchanges between the rivals were evened out in the rain-soaked Irons home.
But United, hungry for a place in Europe’s top club competition, began to dominate possession.
And the visitors had the best attacking chances, with Leah Galton, Alessia Russo and Ella Toone looking dangerous up front.

Toone had a soft shot on goal in the third minute. But her loss of balance resulted in Mackenzie Arnold making a comfortable save.
A stray pass from the hosts saw Galton charge into the box ahead of a final 12th-minute tackle by Irons skipper Gilly Flaherty.
the hammers were later forced into more desperate defensive moments when Galton was about to pounce on an easy back pass from Hawa Cissoko.
But the France centre-back made amends by intercepting a cross destined for Toone and putting the ball out of harm’s way.
And a testing Russo cross could have created a chance for Martha Thomas after half an hour, but Yui Hasegawa helped put the danger away.
In the second half, United upped the ante in the final third when Russo unleashed a pounding punch that led to a fine save from Arnold.
But the visitors finally asserted their dominance when Toone took the lead with his acrobatic overhead finish in the 54th minute.
The Irons looked to equalize minutes later when Hasegawa lunged for a dinked pass before Mary Earps collected the ball.
In the later stages, Jade Moore started in a Red Devils jersey for the first time after transferring from Orlando Pride in January.
United struggled to hold their own in the pouring rain, with Earps requiring treatment in the final minutes.
