FIFA 23 Ted Lasso Crossover With AFC Richmond Confirmed

EA has finally confirmed that the FIFA 23 Ted Lasso Cameo is legit after teasing that the Apple TV+ show would make its way to the best-selling football franchise. In partnership with Warner Bros. Entertainment, Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso, Coach Beard and his fictional club AFC Richmond will appear in a variety of modes including Career, Football Ultimate Team (FUT) and Pro Clubs.

How Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond will perform in FIFA 23

Ted Lasso will be available as a playable manager in career mode, while AFC Richmond members such as Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, Isaac McAdoo and Dani Rojas can be promoted to the Premier League or other playable career mode leagues. In addition, the fictional football club will be selectable in Kick-Off, Online Friendlies and Online Seasons. The Greyhounds’ home ground, Nelson Road, has also been faithfully recreated in the game.

For FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, you can find and select either Ted Lasso or Coach Beard as your club’s manager. It doesn’t look like AFC Richmond’s players will be available, but you can customize your team with the club’s authentic kits and TIFOs. Better still, EA says all AFC Richmond content can be unlocked through objectives and challenges.

Hints at the FIFA 23 Ted Lasso crossover first surfaced around nine days ago when a Reddit user noticed that AFC Richmond was included in the FIFA ratings database. But then the crossover became clearer when the official Twitter account for Ted Lasso was unveiled a photo yesterday by Sudeikis surrounded by a bunch of motion capture cameras.

FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition owners can play the game three days early on September 27th before its general release on September 30th. Ted Lasso won the 2021 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

In other news, Nvidia RTX Remix won’t work with all classic PC games, and Twitch says revenue changes will only affect 10% of streamers. FIFA 23 Ted Lasso Crossover With AFC Richmond Confirmed
