The Black List Season 9 had a very different feel to the show’s previous seasons. Megan Boone did not return to her longtime role as Liz Keen and creator Jon Bokenkamp also left the show. Despite this, Season 9 has brought back some familiar faces as recurring characters. Fans got to know Marvin Gerard and Cynthia Panabaker again, but another familiar face will make an appearance in episode 19.

Actor Mozhan Marnò portrayed Samar Navabi in seasons 2-6 of The Black List. Now she is return for an episode from The Black List Season 9. Samar joined the task force as an investigative agent and Mossad liaison. Eventually, she begins a romantic relationship with Aram Mojtabai.
towards the end season 5, Samar almost drowned and was without oxygen for six minutes. She is on life support in the hospital, but Aram remains optimistic that she will recover. He even proposes to Samar and puts a ring on her finger. Samar eventually wakes up and agrees to marry Aram, but the couple doesn’t get a happy ending.

Samar develops vascular dementia as a result of her near-death experience. This led to Samar becoming a target of the Osterman Umbrella Company. Samar has to go into hiding and Aram insists on going with her. However, Samar flees to an unknown location and tells Aram on a burner phone that she cannot let him leave his whole life behind for her.
Samar Navabi will return in The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 19
Aram has changed a lot since Samar left him. In The Black List In Season 9, Aram temporarily took over Cooper’s job as head of the task force while Cooper awaits sentencing. Aram hasn’t had a great love life since Samar left, but that may change soon.
Corresponding E! newsMazhan Marnò will guest-star as Samar in Episode 19 of Season 9, which airs May 6th. The Black List Season 9 Episode 19 is titled “The Bear Mask”. It’s one of the few episodes in Season 9 that isn’t named after a Blacklisted criminal. Usually, these episodes focus on a specific character and often tell their story through flashbacks.
TV Guide Magazine wrote of the episode, “Special Agent Aram Mojtabai’s turn for a very special – and revealing – episode. Feeling stressed out by his new duties on the task force, he finds an unusual way to deal with it. Unexpected effects occur!”
Episode 19 may contain flashbacks to Aram’s experiences after Liz’s death
The Black List Season 9 had several episodes focusing on a specific character’s experiences in the years following Liz Keen’s death. On March 4, Amir Arison Tweeted“We saw how Dembe & Ressler dealt with the aftermath of Season 8 – the two years before we got back together for the Season 9 task force reunion. Now let’s see what happened to Agent Park. We’ve got a few more episodes like this this season…”
It’s possible that Episode 19 will have some flashbacks for Aram. Although viewers are aware that Aram started his own company after Liz’s death, the show has not addressed how Aram dealt emotionally with Liz’s death and the dissolution of the task force. One thing is for sure, episode 19 will definitely be interesting.
