SHOPPERS have found helpful ways to get the best deals at major UK supermarkets – but you need to know.
Flipping it over when a product is marked on sale and labeled in bright yellow can save you money on your shopping spree.
Of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t plan your shopping to get the best deals.
Professional shopper Scott Dixon told us that 1 p.m. is usually reliable time to discount at most supermarkets, usually because it’s lunch time.
Meanwhile, loyalty schemes like Tesco Club Card can also save you a small fortune in the long run.
But not every major retailer offers one, so finding some aisle bargains is a great way to save cash.
So here’s our guide to when to hit your supermarket storefront to get the best bargains in your basket.
Tesco The time they drop yellow stickers varies, but light-colored labels become more common on the last day before an item’s expiration date.
And if you want to save big on next winter shopping, give it a try a tip from mom to take advantage of Tesco’s Clubcard program.
One MoneySavingExpert Users told the site in 2019 that Aldi’s half-price stickers started appearing at 8pm.
Scott also told us that discounts are available throughout the day – but don’t leave it too late or you could miss out on great deals.

Recently, bargain hunters have pointed out that 24-hour stores have the best deals from 8pm to 9pm – while there are often bargains that must be had half an hour before closing at other websites.
Morrisons one shopper said to bring out the best bargains in the morning.
She tell us last summer: “The top bird gets perishables-cheap-cheap.”
Another Morrisons fan told us the supermarket discounts items overnight so shoppers can snag a morning bargain.
Small supermarkets sell items for cheap about four hours before closing, we were told in 2020.
And an eagle-eyed MoneySavingExpert shopper says 75% off tends to pop up now Cooperate around 8 pm.
Plate-Deals says Sainsbury’s Discounts are usually found around 7pm.
But employees say the transactions are up to the store managers’ discretion.
Meanwhile, money savers on Facebook say Sainsbury’s tends to drop items at some stores by up to 25% at 1pm, 50% at 5pm and 75% at 8pm.
