AEW Console Games: Details on how to play

While we have yet to see a full match play out in the game on AEW’s console, we already know how it will look.

Instead of trying to “compete with the production value of WWE games,” like Kenny Omega explain, AEW is instead looking to revisit the classic wrestling game style. “We just wanted wrestling to feel what it used to be,” he said.

It’s still early days for AEW console gaming.

Based on early footage, this means that the AEW console game would be more suited to games like WWF No Mercy, for example, than a WWE 2K release. Faster actions, more fluid combat, and faster overall pace are all to be expected, according to Omega.

Outside the squared circle, not much is known about the remaining features for rounding the package. While ‘wrestler creation’ has been confirmed, we still don’t know about things like GM modes or story modes.
