Evacuations are underway in Oklahoma officer areas due to wildfires

GUYMON, Okla. (KFOR) – High winds and dry conditions are fueling wildfires in many parts of Oklahoma.

In Guymon, residents in the northwest part of town were urged to evacuate the area.

The Guymon Police Department said there was a fire moving towards that side of the city.

KFOR Chief Meteorologist Mike Morgan reported that there were 79 mph winds in Guymon on Wednesday afternoon.

Residents can evacuate to the Victory Center at NW 5th and N Quinn and the Church of Connect at 1901 N Lelia.

Fire crews are also working in other areas of western Oklahoma.

This is an evolving story.
