Eurovision 2022: Serbia’s entry contains strange texts about Meghan Markle

Serbia’s Eurovision 2022 song has left fans confused with a strange reference to Meghan Markle’s ‘deeply hydrated’ hair.

The song, performed by Serbian singer Konstrakta, is titled “Corpore Sano”, which means “In a healthy body” in Latin.

The song, which is reminiscent of Kraftwerk’s music, begins with the line, “What could be the secret to Meghan Markle’s healthy hair?”

Konstrakta continues to talk about the importance of staying hydrated and how dark circles are said to be linked to liver issues. At the same time, she washes her hands in a bowl, surrounded by dancers with towels draped over their shoulders, mimicking the set-up of a beauty salon.

“The artist shall be healthy,” is the chorus of the song, which then turns into a gospel-like proclamation: “God grant us health!”

But Markle isn’t the only subject of the song, as Konstrakta goes on to explore issues such as Serbia’s healthcare system, politics and social norms.

The song appears to be a direct response to the Eurovision 2022 theme, The Sound of Beauty. Konstrakta’s performance has been interpreted as a satirical commentary on healthcare systems and beauty standards.

Konstrakta said of the connection to the king: “Meghan Markle is not that important here, but she is representative of all the people in the media that we focus on.

“She hasn’t contacted me yet, but I want her to hear! This is a song about the atmosphere we live in that values health as the highest value.”
