BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union should immediately begin topping up its gas storage facilities in preparation for next winter as the bloc seeks to curb its reliance on Russian fossil fuels, EU country leaders will next week say on a summit.
“The refilling of gas storage facilities across the Union should start now. Member States and the Commission will urgently coordinate the actions needed to ensure adequate gas storage before next winter,” read draft conclusions for their March 24-25 summit, seen by Reuters.
