Emma Watson felt ‘really lost’ after ‘Harry Potter’ ended: ‘Oof’

It would be fair to say that almost all Emma Watsons childhood was defined by Harry Potter. The actress was only 9 years old when she was cast to play Hermione Granger. Though she initially only signed on for two films (and even considered leaving the franchise), she stuck with it All eight films. Ultimately, filming and promoting the blockbuster movies spans a full decade in the actor’s life. How did she adjust when the franchise finally ended?

Although Watson considered leaving that Harry Potter Franchise, she admitted she was glad she made it through to the end. The bling ring Star confessed that if someone else played Hermione, it would have killed her. Still, she was eager to explore life (and passions) outside of acting. Like her famous character, Watson has always had a passion for learning. Instead of jumping to another movie afterwards Harry Potter finished, she continued her bachelor’s degree at Brown University.

One of the reasons Watson considered leaving Harry Potter Franchise was that she felt her life was too planned out. After the franchise ended, however, it was precisely this structure that she began to miss. In conversation with JoBlothat Noah The actor admitted that adjusting to the freedom and flexibility of college life is sometimes difficult.

“I go through phases where it feels good and easy and I’m busy at school and there are days where I feel really lost because it was just so structured and I had people telling me , where I needed to be, which is what they wanted me to do,” Watson shared of her life post Harry Potter.
“My whole life has been on a schedule every day, on a time sheet, and at university you decide when you eat, where you go, whether you work or not. No one cares and it’s all up to you so yeah I’ve had days where I felt ‘Oof’ but it’s always been an adjustment and I’m happy I’ve continued with school and that kind of infrastructure have to fall back on.”

While Watson sometimes struggled to adjust to the freedom of college life, she was happy to study. She admits that she didn’t feel able to jump right back into another acting project like her colleague Harry potter Castmate, Daniel Radcliffe.

“It feels good to be able to take a little break,” said Watson. “To be honest, I don’t know how Dan does it because doing those two films back-to-back was exhausting, I mean really exhausting. I was in rags when we finished filming, so I don’t know how Dan does it. He’s kind of incredibly energetic.”
To think that so much of Watson’s life was consumed Harry Potter, it’s no wonder she’s had trouble adjusting to life after the franchise at times. However, she seems to have finally found her footing.
