Elizabeth Olsen returns as Wanda Maximoff Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it seems the Marvel star is still waiting to say one of the character’s best lines from the comics. Those who have read house m — and those keeping up with internet meme culture — will likely recognize the phrase “no more mutants.” It is one of the most well-known Scarlet Witch lines from Marvel Comics. And apparently Olsen really wants to say it on screen.
“House of M” contains one of Wanda Maximoff’s most famous lines
Elizabeth Olsen has yet to bring Marvel house m plot comes to life, but it’s one of Wanda Maximoff’s darkest appearances in the comics. Author Brian Michael Bendis and illustrator Olivier Coipel’s story sees Wanda withdrawing into a reality of her own making. The Avengers and X-Men see her as a threat to eliminate, so she creates a world where mutants rule – and more specifically, her father Magneto.
Unfortunately, Magneto doesn’t live up to Wanda’s expectations either. After a betrayal by him, Wanda tries to eliminate what matters most to him: mutants.
Of course, Scarlet Witch fans meet the Marvel Cinematic Universe has nothing to do with Magneto. She wasn’t declared a mutant either, so her character arc turns out to be quite different than house m
Still, many are wondering if we could see the MCU’s Wanda Maximoff in one house m Scenario across the board. And Olsen admitted that she would “love to” deliver the character’s “No More Mutants” line.
Elizabeth Olsen wants to say: “No more mutants”
In an interview with the HeyUGays, Elizabeth Olsen was asked if she would like the opportunity to say Wanda Maximoff’s famous line “No more mutants”. And the actress revealed that she’s interested in voicing “the immortal three words,” along with other Marvel Comics storylines.
“I mean, I hope so,” Olsen said. “I look forward to all the crossovers in the future. I think this film opens up a lot of possibilities for the multiverse. But the immortal words are…I mean, I’d like to be able to say them in some form to make it work for the MCU.”
Olsen added that she wasn’t sure if that would work for her character: “Besides, it’s not under anyone’s control [Marvel President] Kevin Feige.”
Fans might have a slightly better idea of where the MCUs are located Wanda is behind Doctor Strange 2 premieres. The promotional material certainly suggests a house m Storyline could be coming to the MCU.
Will Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff ever get a House of M story?
So will Elizabeth Olsen ever be able to say “no more mutants” as Wanda Maximoff? If the MCU was included a house m Storyline, it would have to bypass all of the ways it already differs from the comics. For one, the X-Men would have to enter the franchise – although that’s likely Enter Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in Doctor Strange 2.
Wanda would also have to slip into villainy, something for the footage Doctor Strange Continuation alludes to this. So it seems possible that fans could see the MCU version of house m down the line.
With the multiverse, Olsen could also approach this comic as a Wanda variant. The actor is right that there are many options. Fans will have to wait and see if Marvel takes advantage of this.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6, 2022.
