STEVE COOK is climbing his old friend Eddie Howe’s list at Newcastle United.
The veteran Bournemouth captain, 30, has returned to the Cherries under Scott Parker after a spell on the sidelines but Howe knows what he has to offer.
Howe wants to experience Prem to defeat but James Tarkowski and Ben Mee will pay with luck from rival Burnley.
Cook joined Bournemouth in 2012 in a bargain £150,000 deal, after a successful loan spell.
Immediately, he helped the club get promoted to the Championship.
Then, in the 2014-15 season, the club made the leap to the Premier League.
However, after five years at the top, Cook was relegated with Hi.
He has played 386 games for Bournemouth, but has not made a huge impact this season.
Cook mentioned his future to Bournemouth Echo back in november.
“Obviously for myself at the moment, it’s a really difficult time to be out of the team, out of the team. It was really hard for me,” he said.
“I think I’ve missed 20 games in six years. I’m probably getting close to 20 games in a season at the moment. That’s definitely different for myself.”
He added: “Initially, my future is…for now, I can’t say. No real thoughts at the moment – I’m really still hungry to contribute but we’ll see what happens. what will happen.”
