ED Sheeran and Taylor Swift are at the top of their game – so there’s no better time for them to team up for another collaboration.
The pair are said to be aiming to top the charts in 2022.
They gave a bunch of clues that they were going to release a duet of Ed’s next single, Joker And Queen.
The superstars have been friends for a decade. Taylor often drops a bunch of easter eggs – slang for sneaky clues – to suggest what she’s going to do next, and it seems she’s taught Ed her way.
In the video for Overpass Graffiti, Equals’ previous single, Ed wears a biker jacket with a joker jacket and a queen on his back.
It has a patch with Taylor’s name above the queen. Elsewhere in the clip, there’s a newspaper front page featuring her in the story along with Elton John, with whom he’s also recently collaborated.
In a second article in the video — which is a bit of a fiction coming true I’m reporting on — a headline reads: “Sheerio sluths see signs everywhere.”
Earlier this week, Ed said of The Joker And The Queen: “It’s my next single, I’m so excited about it.
“I made a collaboration for it to come out in the new year with the one I love.”
Taylor’s eight most recent albums have topped the charts, while Ed flies high with the success of his latest record, Equals, on which the original solo version of the song appears.
In 2012, they reached No7 with Everything Has Changed, although their other collaborations End Game and Run were never released as singles.
Teaming up again for this one seems like the perfect solution to get them both back to No1.
And if it comes out in the next few weeks, I wouldn’t believe we’ll get a superstar performance on stage of it at the Grammys or Brit Awards.
This won’t be his only major collaboration next year.
Like I said yesterday, he also has a tune in line with Camila Cabello.
When asked about the singer, Ed, whose song Shape Of You yesterday became the first song to hit 3 billion streams on Spotify, said: “We’ve worked on a song that’s coming out together. in the next year.”
It’s definitely going to be another busy 12 months for him.
LadBaby rises to the top
LADBABY last night set a new record by becoming the first artist to score four consecutive Christmas No1 singles.
But it’s also good news for Elton John and Ed Sheeran, who are securing another top spot after performing to the tune of Foodbank charity The Trussell Trust’s support.
The song, Sausage Rolls For Everyone, yes, is a parody of Ed and Elton’s Merry Christmas, which is of course the song for No2.
The bookies last night were so sure vlogger dad LadBaby would secure the top spot today that Coral offered long-term odds of 1-16.
The track stayed at No1 on the iTunes download chart all week, while a second release with the Foodbank Choir also helped boost sales.
Four consecutive festival No1s means LadBaby has surpassed the records set by the Spice Girls and The Beatles.
While it’s all about a bright goal, I hope this means someone else may have a chance next year.
It gets a bit boring when every Christmas the same person gets parodied.
Just like when we’re all tired of The X Factor winner’s singles hitting No1 every December, my wish is for someone to outdo LadBaby with something we don’t. might really want to hear in 2022.
Slade at Glasto
SLADE Merry Xmas’ No1 1973 song Everyone has written their name in the history books.
Now, lead singer Noddy Holder has big plans for the original band behind the smash.
In an exclusive chat, he revealed that he wants to get back with Jim Lea, Don Powell and Dave Hill to play the legendary slot at Glastonbury.
And while he had to climb a mountain to convince festival organizer Michael Eavis to say yes, it will be even more difficult to reunite his former colleagues after they split in 1992.
Especially after Dave fired Don from a revamped version of the team over email last year.
Noddy said of the coveted gambling prospect: “It would be great if we could find our difference. I think we’ll all probably have to join a coach. Or we must all have a dressing room or a caravan.
“And we’ll probably have to have a glass barrier between us on stage so there’s no fish on the stage.”
The band has had six No1 singles and five No1 albums. But Noddy says their egos tore them apart.
As for Dave and Don, he added: “I think it’s going to be a while before they talk again. But that happens in rock ‘n’ roll bands. If it’s not one crisis, it’s another”.
Happy Chewing Year, Coconut
FINAL Christmas Dua Lipa is loved in America along with Anwar Hadid and his family.
They then went on vacation to Mexico with all of her spouse and family.
But 12 months for it is a different story, with Dua looking to enjoy the UK festivities, more than 5,000 miles away from Anwar.
Singer Levitating posed in this delightfully psychedelic Versace outfit – while biting into a bag – for an Instagram post, amid rumors that things are over for her and Anwar after two years half.
Their hectic, hectic schedules have meant they’ve struggled to find time together in recent months and the couple haven’t been photographed together for weeks.
But friends have said it won’t be long until they meet again, I’m sure their New Year’s resolution will be to try and fix things.
Liz goes to Tinsel Town
Looks like LIZZO got swept away while she was building her tree – because half of the decorations ended up on top of her.
The Truth Hurts singer wished her fans a Merry Christmas by sharing this photo online of a very festive headdress on top of some Grinch green hair.
Her last album Cuz I Love You came out in 2019, so I hope this is an indication that a new musical gift is coming soon.
