Easter weekend descends into violence as the US lashed out with 3 mass shootings and attacks that left 10 dead and around 100 injured

THE Easter holiday weekend turned violent in the US with a spate of deadly attacks and three mass shootings.

Around 100 people were injured and at least 10 killed in the carnage – with South Carolina being hit by two major attacks.

A shooting at an Airbnb in Pittsburgh killed two teenagers and left nine others wounded.

Terrifying video from the party shows the moment dozens of teenagers ran for their lives.

You could hear teenagers arguing before one yelled, “He’s got the gun, get the shit out!”

A total of 90 shots are believed to have been fired around 00:30 on Sunday morning messy party for a short-term rented property.

More than 200 people were at the property, many of whom were minors, police said.

KDKA editor Ed Thompson released the video, which shows the chaos that ensued after some partygoers opened fire.

“He’s about to shoot!” shouted the person who shot the video. “We must go.”

The video shows the huge crowd at the standing-room-only party apparently attempting to shuffle out of the AirBnB after realizing the violence was imminent.

The person filming kept urging others to keep moving and leave the home as the unidentified gunman began shooting.

Some party attendees jumped out of windows to avoid the gunfire.

Two of those who jumped suffered broken bones and lacerations, WTAE reported.

This is an ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.

There were multiple guns at the party, as bullet casings from rifles and pistols were found at the scene, WTAE-TV reported.

Police are processing evidence from up to eight separate crime scenes spread several blocks around the short-term lease property.

“Finding out who did this is our top priority,” Police Commissioner Scott Schubert said at Sunday’s press conference.

“We won’t sleep until we have that.”

South Carolina

A law enforcement source said 14 people were injured in a shooting at Columbiana Mall on Saturday. Of those injured in the incident, nine people were shot dead and five others injured.

According to the police, the injured were between 15 and 73 years old.

Only one victim, a 73-year-old woman, continued to receive medical treatment, police said.

“All other victims have been treated and released or will be released shortly,” police said in a statement.

Police earlier said Saturday that 10 people were injured by gunfire at the Columbiana Center mall in Columbia, South Carolina.

It is believed that “gang revenge” may have been behind the shooting, but Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook made no mention of gangs during a news conference late Saturday afternoon.

However, he said authorities do not believe the shooting was accidental and that those involved knew each other.

Holbrook said the shooting was “not a situation of a random person showing up at the mall,” adding that three people had been arrested.

Columbia police said they arrested 22-year-old Jewayne M. Price for unlawfully carrying a handgun. Police said more charges could be forthcoming.

Another shooting in South Carolina left nine people injured after a shooting at Cara’s Lounge.

The incident is being investigated by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Agency.

The event flyer advertised exotic dancers and a DJ.

Hampton County is located in southwest South Carolina on the Georgia border.

Authorities have not identified any of the victims.

CHICAGO

At least 11 people were shot dead in shootings across Chicago, with one fatality.

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot on the South Side on Sunday morning. He was taken to the Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Another woman was injured at a West Pullman restaurant when shooting broke out on the Far South Side. Two people were arguing inside the restaurant around 2:45 a.m. when a man went outside and opened fire.

The other man returned fire, hitting the 26-year-old woman in the forearm while she was waiting to order food.

A 37-year-old man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the groin after an unidentified assailant approached him at around 2:45 a.m. and shot in his direction.

A 58-year-old man was leaving an apartment on Saturday when he was approached by three unidentified men. One of the men hit the victim in the head with an unknown object before the officer fired a shot in the victim’s direction.

He sustained a wound to his thigh but refused medical attention when the Chicago Fire Department arrived at the scene.

PHILADEPHIA

At least four people have been killed and 14 others injured in a series of shootings that shook Philadelphia in a single day.

An 18-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being shot twice in the knee in Powelton on Thursday afternoon. The teenager sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

A man believed to be in his 20s died after being shot in the head in South Philadelphia. fox29 reported.

The victim has not been identified and a motive for the shooting has not been established.

Police later found a 33-year-old man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

A 37-year-old woman and a 25-year-old woman were both shot in the thigh and taken to hospital in two separate incidents.

Three people were attacked in a Wallace Street shooting.

Two of the male victims were taken to hospital in critical condition, while the other is believed to be stable.

Meanwhile, two men, 28 and 66, have been hospitalized and are in critical condition after being shot dead in the Brewerytown neighborhood of Philadelphia. ABC6 reported.

Police data shows that there have been at least 132 homicides in Philadelphia this year.

ALABAMA

Three people died in two shootings in Alabama, authorities said. The first incident happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday in Prichard.

Justin Trotter, 24, and Romello Williams, 25, shot each other. City spokesman TJ Pettaway said the two men had an argument before arming each other.

Almost half an hour later, Robert McMillian, 42, drove to the University Hospital emergency room to check on his friend, who was one of the victims of the Prichard murder.

In the parking lot, McMillian got into an argument with several people, which resulted in someone getting out of his car and shooting McMillian, who later died from his injuries.

INDIANAPOLIS

One man was killed and two others may be injured in a shooting at an Indiana restaurant early Easter Sunday morning.

Officers were called to a Popeye’s Chicken to investigate a reported shooting. A man, believed to be an adult, was found in the parking lot. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but did not survive.

Two other possible victims of the same incident arrived at Eskenazi Hospital just after 1am.

One victim had what police described as a “non-penetrating gunshot wound.”

LOUISIANA

A young girl died after being shot in the right cheek in Shreveport. The shooting took place around 1:17 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

A teenaged resident and a male resident were in the home at the time of the shooting.

“The man pointed a gun and one shot was fired,” the incident report said. The teen was taken to Ochsner LSU Health, where she was pronounced dead.

Earlier that day, Zynashaia L. Fielding, 23, was found dead in her car from a gunshot wound.

Police currently have no suspects but say long guns were used and they are looking for a white, four-door vehicle.

VIRGINIA

A man was shot after his car was shot while driving on Interstate 85, state police said.

RaeQwan Curtis Hinton, 25, was driving a black Chrysler 300 when an unidentified light-colored sedan fired shots at his vehicle before he sped away.

Hinton was able to get the car off the freeway into a BP garage parking lot. When the police found him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger Hinton was traveling with was not injured. An investigation is underway.
