EastEnders star Steve McFadden batted five points and was fined £580 after speeding his moped

EASTENDERS tough man Steve McFadden has been slapped with five points on his license and a £580 bill after speeding his moped.
The 63-year-old actor, who plays badass Phil Mitchell, was caught speeding 34 mph in a 12 mph zone on October 7 last year.

He was pulled over by an officer with a mobile speed gun while riding his Piaggio scooter near his north London home.
His case was heard in what is known as Special Judicial Procedure Thursday afternoon in Bromley Magistrates’ Court.
McFadden did not have to attend the hearing, which was held behind closed doors, because he previously pleaded guilty.
The court shared the details on request.

After admitting speeding, McFadden has now been fined £440 and ordered to pay £100 in costs plus a £44 victim services surcharge.
He also upgraded his driver’s license by five points.
McFadden is known to be a scooter fanatic and is sometimes seen driving one to Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire where EastEnders is being filmed.
And this isn’t the first time the star, who has played Mitchell in two spells on the hit BBC One show since 1990, has faced allegations of violating traffic laws.
In 2010, he was pictured riding his motorbike on a sidewalk – but police were never informed.
And in 1996 he got an 18-month driving ban after being stopped at the wheel of his Rolls-Royce after sinking the equivalent of nine double vodkas.
The ban was criticized by some at the time as being too lenient.
The court was told that McFadden originally planned to fight the case on the grounds that his drinks were spiked, but the defense was withdrawn as it would have been too hard to prove.

The actor told officers he drank three pints of beer at 10:30 p.m.
But prosecutors said tests showed he had 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, suggesting he had been drinking a lot more. The limit is 35 mcg.
