EastEnders fans see Arthur Fowler looks very different as the youngster is secretly recast

EASTENDERS fans were last stunned to discover there was a new Arthur Fowler in town.

Stacey Slater and Kush Kazemi’s child, named after the Albert Square original, has been quietly recast.

Rocco Brennan took over the role in place of Hunter Bell – and the change didn’t go unnoticed by fans.

He made his EastEnders debut in somewhat unusual circumstances: he was crushed on a bouncy castle by Jean Slater.

Arthur was seen holding his arm and squeaking: “Nanny Jean did it” after she set up a giant inflatable in the market for the kids to play on.

One viewer joked, “Poor Arthur, first he gets recast and then he gets hurt.”

Others wrote: “They quietly replaced the actor who plays Arthur lol” and “They changed Arthur!”

Another asked, “Did the kid who plays Arthur change during the same episode?”

Hunter Bell, who played Arthur before moving on after six years with the soap, congratulated the newcomer.

On the Instagram page run by his parents, the actor wrote: “I want to give HUGE congratulations to Rocco Brennan on replacing me as the new Arthur Fowler.

“I am sure you will be a great success. I look forward to seeing you grow as I have for 6 years.”

He explained earlier this week that he’s played the character since he was cast as a baby.

He wrote: “Since then I have matured into the little Arthur Fowler that you all have come to know and love.

“But I’ve personally decided that by the time I’m 6 years old I want to try different things in life.”
