A Duggar insider says some members of the Duggar family believe Josh was “framed.”
A former member of the Duggar family’s island church inherited it Reddit on April 15 to discuss her experiences within the IBLP and in particular with the Duggar family. A user asked the insider if the family believed Josh was guilty during the AMA event. The former church member claims many members of the Duggar family, including Josh’s wife Anna Duggar, believe he was “set”. The family insider did not go into detail. A Reddit moderator verified her identity.
Shortly after his sentencing, reports appeared in several media outlets that Anna believed Josh had been framed. Since the conviction, Anna has spent hours on the phone with her husband. made josh dozens of calls in the first month of his incarceration. Many of these calls went to Anna. While some supporters of the Duggar family assumed there would be a divorce after the conviction, Anna appears to be standing by her husband.
His defense tried to argue that someone else used the computer
The family insider’s suggestion that the Duggar family believes Josh Duggar was framed aligns with his defense. The allegations are also consistent with Anna’s statements during her brief return to social media in February 2022.
During the 2021 trial, Josh’s attorneys attempted to argue that someone else placed the images on Josh’s computer. More specifically, they claimed someone could have remotely accessed the desktop and placed the images on the device.
The defense expert insisted that remote access was possible. The prosecutor’s expert was not convinced. The jury also found the defense’s theory unconvincing. A jury found Josh guilty on both counts.
In February 2021, nearly two months after the guilty verdict, Anna Duggar returned to social media, albeit briefly. Anna shared a link and suggested there is one “more about history” in her first post since the end of the trial. The link led followers to a motion filed by Josh’s defense team. She hasn’t posted since then.
