Drone video shows Russian tank being blown up during escape attempts

Dramatic drone video released by the Ukrainian military captured the moment a Russian tank was blown up in Mariupol – as a crew member jumped out of the 40-ton vehicle and ran for his life.

The footage shows the “Z” embossed tank Rolling along a deserted street in the besieged city before being shelled by the artillery of the Azov battalion.

A crew member climbs out of the tower and runs away as smoke billows from the smoldering wreckage of the disabled vehicle, which has been hit multiple times.

The soldier appears to have been wounded and is writhing on the ground nearby, while a dead comrade lies a short distance away.

It was not immediately clear how many Russian crew members were killed in the strike.

On Thursday, Russia’s foreign ministry denied that its forces were behind the attack, claiming the allegations were an attempt to frame Moscow.
