Dramatic video shows Russian warship exploding amid Ukraine war

Ukraine on Thursday celebrated the demolition of a Russian warship carrying military supplies to the invading forces.
“The morning begins with good news!” The Ukrainian armed forces rejoiced as it shared videos and photos of the still-burning DropShip Orsk.
“The occupiers are burning well!” The news boasted just days after Russia hailed the warship’s arrival with military supplies as an “epic event.”
Aerial photos showed huge plumes of black smoke billowing from the docks in Berdyansk over the Sea of Azov, an area Ukraine said was “taken by Russia”.
The flames erupted as the ship lay near at least two others, though it wasn’t immediately clear if the damage spread beyond the Orsk.
Defense analyst and author HI Sutton speculated that the Alligator-class ship was destroyed with one “Ballistic Missile Impact”. Two other ships were seen “as the fire raged,” he tweeted.

The Orsk arrived Monday at Berdyansk, a port some 60 miles from Mariupol, the city facing the worst attacks of the war.
A Russian officer hailed his arrival as an “epic event that opens up opportunities” to bring in supplies, state news agency TASS noted.
“The Black Sea Fleet’s large landing craft has arrived and, before your eyes, is unloading armored personnel carriers that will reinforce our grouping,” the officer had said of the now-wrecked ship, which can carry up to 1,500 tons of equipment and cargo.

Russia has not yet commented on the apparent destruction of the Orsk.
