This means you can get a better deal if you’re patient and don’t buy an iPhone as a gift.

Research conducted by phone experts at Repair shop.

They compared the average price of iPhones over time and the percentage that this price changed to the percentage where other essentials like rent and annual income fluctuated.

Tom Peet, Director of Repair Outlet, explains: “With the research we’ve gathered, it looks like the iPhone has reached the glass ceiling in terms of RRP.

“Our findings suggest that 2022 will see a price drop for Apple’s iPhone, or at least, a better phone model at the same price point.

“We’d like to encourage individuals to be patient and see what Apple releases next year, because we believe shoppers will get more bang for their buck that way.

“Research shows that nearly 12,500 gift hunters are willing to go beyond their financial means to give their loved one an iPhone this Christmas.

“And while there’s a lot of pressure around the festive period, we’d like to warn people against spending more than they can afford or need for an iPhone that is likely to quickly depreciate.”

Since 2019, the average price of an iPhone is said to have dropped even though iPhone technology has evolved.

Apple devices are still among the most expensive on the market, and the researchers have yet to reveal what they expect iPhone prices to drop.

Their general advice is that if you can live without an iPhone 13 this Christmas, you can get a better iPhone for less next holiday season.
