DONALD Trump’s NYC restaurant turned down an anti-vaxxers group on Thursday for refusing to present proof of vaccinations.
Diners tried entering the Trump Grill, located in the former president’s Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, according to the video from the scene.
“We went to Trump Tower because we thought Donald Trump was supposed to be for America, he said he was against the mandate on vaccines,” said one anonymous protester.
“I thought as a man, for America, he would stand up, pay the $1,000 fine and let us eat and drink – you know that man is a billionaire, he has subject to a $1,000 fine.
“It will make him look good. But instead, he let his people out of service and that just shows he’s a scammer,” said the anti-vaxxer. “All talk but no action.”
In New York City, anyone age 5 or older who wants to dine indoors, watch a show or go to the gym needs to show proof that they have had at least one dose of the Covid vaccine.
But the group outside Trump Tower this week didn’t have it – even as a policeman explained the rules to them.
“Prove to us that we are a threat,” one protester told police, while another said: “The burden of proof is on them because they see us as a threat.” threat because we don’t have a vaccine. Well, prove to me that we are a threat.”
Police explained that Trump Grill did not have to prove anything to the protesters.
“You can book 10 seats, it’s not guaranteed [anything.] It’s not a constitutional right,” the official said of dining at a restaurant.
TRUMP HAS BEEN BOOKED
A few days ago, in a face-to-face interview with Bill O’Reilly, Trump revealed that he received a Covid booster shot – and was booed by the crowd.
“Do not! Do not! Do not! Do not! Do not! ‘ Trump told the crowd, waving their hands in response.
While Trump has expressed opposition to vaccine mandates, he has long credited the vaccines developed during his presidency.
The Big Apple has put in place some of the most aggressive measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.
About 5.9 million adults have had at least their first dose, of the seven million 18 and older – about 84% – while 5.8 million New Yorkers of all ages are fully immunized.
COVID IN BIG APPLE
Last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio said the business could close because of the recent spike in the Omicron variant: “It’s great, I feel this: No more closing.
“We overcame them. They were devastated. We can’t go through it again.”
On Thursday, it was announced that the city’s annual Times Square celebration would be scaled down from its usual capacity of about 58,000 people to about 15,000.
Everyone there must show proof of vaccination and wear a mask.
Expert studies have shown that the risk of severe illness from Covid-19 is reduced by 90% or more in fully vaccinated people.
While there have been breakthrough cases of Covid in vaccinated people, they are rare.
In the event of a breakthrough case, it is highly unlikely that the victim will be hospitalized with severe symptoms or die from the virus.
Health officials have recommended that the Omicron variant is more infectious and could lead to further breakout cases.
However, the spread could be offset by all vaccinated Americans getting a booster shot.
Current vaccines are expected to protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death from infection with the Omicron variant.
With other variants, like Delta, the vaccine is still effective in preventing severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
Studies have also shown that side effects from vaccines are extremely rare.
