Marvel fans are frustrated with a new one Doctor Strange 2 TV spot that many say spoiled the film.
Much remains unknown about the new sequel with the title Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessbut a new teaser seemed to confirm the presence of two characters some fans didn’t realize would be in the film.
Due to the film’s inclusion of the Multiverse, a series of alternate worlds featuring a cast of Marvel characters both old and new, multiple cameos are expected to appear in the film.
*Spoilers to follow – you have been warned*
The 15-second TV spot sees Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) wrestle with a version of agent Peggy Carter, who is expected to be played in the film by returning cast member Hayley Atwell.
Also appearing at the end of the clip is footage of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier aka Professor X via his iconic X-Men hover chair, straight out of the Marvel Comics.
His voice was previously teased in the trailer released at the Super Bowl in February.
While many called out Marvel for ruining any possible surprises in the film, others stressed that the inclusion of these particular characters had previously been revealed in other trailers and reports.
Still, many fans complained that maybe it would have been better to hold back some of those surprises until the film’s release.
“It’s really annoying how much is being shown about this movie,” complained one fan, while another added, “They’re releasing the whole movie at this point.”
“I’m so mad it showed up on my timeline,” added one fan.
