Disney’s galactic battle to fill the “Star Wars” hotel – with rooms up to $20,000 a night

Disney’s overpriced “Star Wars” Galactic Starcruiser Hotel, which only has 100 rooms, is far from sold out based on availability calendar on his website.
Guests will have free choice to stay at the hotel through the second half of 2022, which offers rooms for between $5,000 and $20,000 for a “tricked out” suite. Almost every day in August, September, October, November and December is available, as the calendar shows, and there are also many openings in June and July.
The immersive Star Wars hotel in Orlando, which opened March 1, has drawn backlash from Disney World fans over sky-high room rates, dining costs, and “Star Wars”-themed extras like a private portrait session with a photographer .
Anger rose last December when the Mouse House removed a promotional video from Twitter and YouTube after fans called the accommodation substandard and overpriced.

“‘Lightsaber Training’ looks about as exciting as a roadside sobriety test,” commented a Disney viewer on YouTube. “It’s way overpriced,” said another.
The New York Times, the I recently received a preview of the hotel, laid out some of the outrageous additional costs that guests can expect to incur outside of the base experience fee.
A stay at the hotel doesn’t include alcohol, which costs about $13 for beer, $11 and up for wine, and $23 for specialty drinks, or any fun “Star Wars” themed extras, the statement said Report. For example, it costs at least $99 to hire a photographer for a portrait—or if you want to sit at the head of the captain’s table in the Starcruiser’s Crown of Corellia’s dining room, you’ll have to pay an extra $30.

Still, reviews since then have been relatively positive, with a few exceptions.
In his review CNBC said: “Immersion takes on a new meaning‘ aboard the Starcruiser, noting that the price is worth it ‘when you’re ready to let loose and play.’ Others criticized the high-priced cabins, which have no windows but a view of screens showing videos of stars, planets and play asteroid showers.
Reviewers likened it to a “windowless bunker” and a “suburban junior high school built in the mid-1970s,” according to the SFGate.
They said the Starcruiser also lacks amenities typically expected in hotels at this price point, like a pool and spa.

On the other hand, some guests have raved about the character actors participating in the immersive experience.
Along with Rey, Kylo Ren, and Chewbacca, guests interact with a cast of cruise ship workers who encourage them to fight for the Resistance and take on secret missions during their stay.
