Disney surprises young man with autism with trip to Disney’s Christmas Parade

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Every year on Luke Barrys birthday, his entire neighborhood comes together for a Christmas-themed parade, full of musical instruments, festive hats, and lots of cheers.

Luke, who has been diagnosed with autism and epilepsy, discovered the instrument when he was about two years old and immediately fell in love. He’s always dreamed of being in a marching band and this year, thanks Disney, His dream is about to come true.

Jill Barry, Lukes mother, said: “This year, he thought everyone was coming to practice for his birthday parade,” said Jill Barry, the mother of Lukes, “He had no idea that it was. Disney will surprise him.”

After giving the instrument to all his family and friends, Luke led his marching band, nicknamed the Walnut Street Unicorns, in a spirited march around the property. Finally, Lukes mom surprised him with the news that they were going to Disney World to see it Disney’s Christmas Parade, but that’s not all.

“You’ll march with the Disney Band,” Jill exclaimed. Luke couldn’t contain his excitement!
