DICE is working on another futuristic battlefield despite BF 2042 issues

A new leak has revealed that Battlefield developer DICE is already working on a new futuristic game that will quickly evolve from 2021’s Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 was viewed as a major disappointment by both developer DICE and longtime fans of the franchise.

Publisher Electronic Arts itself even admitted that the game’s sales were “disappointing” and that the game “didn’t live up to expectations.”

Now, a new report reveals that EA and DICE are moving forward with another Battlefield title and are trying to learn from their past mistakes.

Tom Henderson, the reporter behind many leaks in the past, has revealed DICE’s plans for the future of the Battlefield franchise.

In the articledescribes EA’s desire to push the Battlefield franchise forward with an all-new game.

Henderson said DICE learned “valuable lessons” from the disastrous Battlefield 2042 release, and efforts are being made to reverse changes made in 2042 that divided the community.

Some of these changes could affect the 128 player feature as well as the introduction of Specialists, changes that may be scrapped starting with the next title.

One important detail emerged from the leak about the untitled next installment in the franchise: the game will be a “modern/near future” Attitude.

Although Battlefield 2042 is set to receive tons of post-launch content, including four new Specialists, a “large chunk” of the DICE staff has moved on to the next Battlefield game.
