For years, Devin Nunes was one of Congress’ biggest Trump bulldogs. No more. The California representative will retire to Capitol Hill, where he has been hiding since 2003, later this year. For what? A source claims so he can work for the big man himself.
Follow News about Punchbowl (as caught by Insiders), Nunes is “rumored” to join Trump Media & Technology Group Corp, the new company behind long-threatened social media service. It’s unclear what he would do there if the rumors were true, but it would be a big boon for the company, which is already in hot water. TRUTH Social, their contribution to the already crowded right-wing social media scene, has missed a big deadline. Meanwhile, Nunes’ key news comes on the same day that the company is reported to be under investigation by securities regulators.
Nunes made a name for himself in 2018, when, as a senior member of the House Intelligence Committee, he supported Trump in the investigation of his dealings with Russian powers before 2016 election. Nunes then start his own investigation into the FBI, claiming that they unfairly targeted the then-president. And of course, there are fewer people that Trump likes than those who say nice things about him, especially if they aren’t exactly the truth.
