Here’s a super quick rundown of what you can expect from the Osiris Trial in Season of the Lost:

  • The trial will only be available to players who own the latest annual expansion (Beyond Light)
  • You can keep playing after you’ve accumulated three losses and still earn gear (although Experiments will only provide the best rewards for perfect runs)
  • PC players will now notice BattlEye’s anti-cheat feature in effect
  • Perhaps the biggest change is that Trials of Osiris will now offer matchmaking

Osiris map test this week (February 11-15)

We’ll be exploring this week’s Osiris Test map at 5pm GMT / 10am PT / 1pm ET on February 11.

Destiny 2 fan and graphic designer Relikt created an amazing series of annotated maps. This is one of the previous weeks.

Try Osiris Rewards This Week (February 11)

Now that you’ve got the scoop on this week’s Osiris Challenge map, you’ll want to know what loot is in store for those brave enough to join the playlist when it comes out next time.

Instead of the 3, 5, 7 and Perfect win thresholds previously required for rewards, players will no longer earn weapon-specific bonuses. In fact, you’ll now earn Trials Engram to boost your reputation with Saint-14 in Tower’s Hangar.

However, you will earn a “master” weapon that rotates to run perfectly.

  • Reputation Rating 10 – Eye of Sol (Kinetic Sniper Rifle). Once you’ve re-established your reputation, you can earn The Messenger (Kinetic pulse rifle)
  • Rank 16 Reputation – Igneous Hammer (Sun Cannon). Once you’ve reset your reputation, you can earn Sola’s Scar (Sun sword)
  • Runs flawlessly – TBC

Once the Osiris Trial bonus has been unlocked, you can return for the cost of a Trial instance – meaning it’s never been easier to farm reels.

Don’t forget, though, you can get better gear with higher stat scrolls through using Flawless. The reputation of the Rated 10 and Rated 16 Tests will also guarantee weapon drops.

Once Witch Queen Upon arrival, you will need to purchase it to participate in the Osiris Trial later.

Which Osiris Passage test is right for you?

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Passages explained

With the playlist revamp in Season 15, Trials of Osiris has also undergone some changes to its Paragraphs (or Cards). These quest items grant you access to the Test roster every weekend, and there are some important changes to note in the new system:

  • Segments no longer track losses
    • Every Passage is Perfect or Not, allowing you to keep playing and earn rewards no matter how many losses you take
    • Players can still reset their Passage after a loss, but are no longer forced to do so after hitting three losses on their card
  • Episodes now track up to 20 rounds won
  • All segments have been significantly discounted
  • Passages are now account-wide, meaning you can play and reward any of your characters using the same Passage

Make sure you get the correct Passage before you join the Weekend Trial.

These changes, and what they mean for you as you prepare for the playlist, can be quite confusing. Luckily, we have a breakdown of each Paragraph, what it does, and which might be right for you:

  • Passage of Mercy: This passage forgives one loss per run
    • If your goal is to get to the Lighthouse, then this is the Passage for you. You will get a free loss without resetting the card and starting from scratch
  • Passage of Ferocity: This passage grants you a bonus after hitting three wins on your card
    • Usually the next choice behind Mercy for Flawless runs, this will let you skip the entire match on your way to the Lighthouse – but, you won’t get forgiveness when loss comes with Mercy
  • Passage of Wealth: This Passage increases Trial Rank points when it reaches 3, 5 and 7 wins
    • If you are more focused on Farming Trial rewards and not interested in being Perfect, then this is the card for you. With the new Experimental reputation system, Passage of Wealth will raise your rank with Saint-14 faster than any other card
  • Confidence: This passage gets a bonus from the chest Flawless, but you can only get this pass after using Flawless that week
    • If you’re confident in your skills and have a solid team to play with, the Passage of Confidence can get you more rewards at the Lighthouse, but is arguably the hardest Passage to play.

Picking the Track that’s right for you (and your teammates, if you’re planning on participating in the Experiment with a pre-made broadcast team) will help you make the most of your time on a playlist each weekend.
