Deodorant recall 2022: Brut Antiperspirant Spray, Definitely Recalled for Benzene

In a press release released on WednesdayHRB Brands said benzene was not an ingredient in any of the recalled products.
However, their assessment revealed unexpected levels of benzene coming from the propellant that sprayed the product out of the can.
The recalled spray has an expiration date on or before August 2023.
The following five Brute and Sure spray products are affected by the voluntary recall:
- Brut Classic Antiperspirant Spray (4 oz) – UPC 00827755070085
- Brut Classic Antiperspirant Spray (6 oz) – UPC 000827755070108
- Brut Classic deodorant spray (10.0 oz) – UPC 00827755070047
- Rugged Conventional Antiperspirant Spray (6.0 oz) – UPC 00883484002025
- Unscented sturdy antiperspirant spray (6.0 oz) – UPC 00883484002278

In his statement, was posted on the website of the US Food and Drug Administrationstates that benzene is classified as a human carcinogen.
“Benzene exposure can occur by inhalation, by mouth, and through the skin and can lead to cancers including leukemia and blood cancers, bone marrow and blood disorders that can be life-threatening. common in the environment. People around the world are exposed to it daily indoors and outdoors from a variety of sources,” the statement said.
HRB Brands said the recall is being done out of an abundance of caution and no cases of illness have been reported.
The products were distributed nationally in the United States, with the exception of Brut Aerosol Deodorant, 154g, which was distributed in Canada.
Consumers are asked to stop using the recalled products and dispose of them appropriately.
The company has established a hotline for questions regarding the recall at 1-8660-615-0976. They also set up a website for consumers to request a refund and find more information.
In December, Proctor and Gamble has ordered a voluntary recall of more than 30 aerosol productsincluding dry shampoo and conditioner, due to concerns about benzene content.
