Death of Robin Parkinson: “Allo! ‘Hello! Star and Button Moon narrator dies aged 92


Robin Parkinson has died at the age of 92.

A statement was released Tuesday evening (May 10) announcing the man’s death‘Hello! ‘Hello! Star who played Monsieur Ernest Leclerc on the popular sitcom. Parkinson died on May 7th.

A statement from his family said: “Robin Parkinson, actor, known for ‘Hello! ‘Hello! and as the voice of button moonHe passed away peacefully at the age of 92 with his wife and daughters by his side.”

Parkinson’s acting career spanned more than four decades, taking him to the stage in film, television and theater.

His biggest role was in ‘Hello! ‘Hello!in which he appeared from series seven through nine after the death of the original Ernest, Derek Royle.

He was known to many as the narrator of the children’s show button moonwhich ran from 1980 to 1988.

Parkinson, who was born in Coventry, has also had roles in popular series such as Dad’s Army, It’s not half hot mom, The young and The Kenny Everett Show.

He began his stage career at the Birmingham Repertory Theater and later acted his stage career ‘Hello! ‘Hello! Role in subsequent West End production and Australian tour in 1990s.
