David Pearce faces charges in the murder of Christy Giles, a friend who was abandoned in LA hospitals

A Hollywood producer has been charged with the murder of an aspiring model and her architect friend via a drug overdose, which they left unconscious outside various Los Angeles hospitals last year.

David Pearce, 40, has been jailed since December 2021 on unrelated rape allegations, and last week the Los Angeles County Attorney’s Office filed new murder charges against him in connection with the deaths of 24-year-old and 26-year-old Christy Giles-old Hilda Marcela Cabrales -Arzola, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Actor Brandt Osborn, 42, was also charged as an accessory to the murders of women. He is currently in custody but an arrest warrant has been issued for him.

A third man originally arrested in the case, identified as 47-year-old cameraman Michael Ansbach, has not been charged.

Giles’ family welcomed the news, writing on Instagram Stories: “Finally! Justice is coming.”

Pearce’s attorney said his client plans to plead not guilty at his July 11 indictment.

Attorney Jacob Glucksman told the Pearce newspaper: “Adamantly and firmly denies any connection to the unfortunate deaths of these women.”

Giles’ lifeless body was dropped off outside a hospital in Culver City, California on November 13, 2021 by two masked men in a Toyota Prius with no license plates.

A short time later, the same men left Cabrales-Arzola at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West Los Angeles. She died on November 24 after spending 11 days in a coma and being pronounced brain dead.

The LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has ruled on the women’s homicides.

Officials have determined that both Giles and Cabrales-Arzola died from “multiple drug intoxications.”

Giles had a deadly cocktail of cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine, and the notorious date sex drug gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, or GHB, in her system at the time of her death.

Cabrales-Arzola tested positive for cocaine and MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, as well as other unspecified drugs, resulting in multiple organ failure.

Pearce was initially arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, Osborn and Ansbach accused of aiding and abetting manslaughter.

Police said all three suspects attended a camp party with the victims in the hours before their deaths and the women later continued the night at Pearce’s apartment.

Two days after his arrest, Pearce was charged with raping four women between 2010 and 2020.

He previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of violent rape and one count each of rape of an unconscious or sleeping person and sexual penetration with a foreign object, but last week prosecutors added new counts of sexual assault against Pearce, who is now charged with having injured seven women.

One of the alleged victims told police Pearce offered her a whiskey that made her pass out and then penetrated her with a wine bottle. After she managed to fend him off, the producer reportedly threatened to harm her family, a parole officer wrote in a report obtained by the LA Times.

Another woman claimed Pearce raped her while she was unconscious and then also threatened to harm her loved ones, the report said.
